CNC Machining and 3D Printing Intern

IENAI SPACE is an early-stage startup located in Madrid, developing an end-to-end ecosystem of in-space mobility products, including propulsion systems and engineering SaaS. We are a highly innovative company in the "New Space" sector; the team is made up of a dynamic and multidisciplinary group of engineers, PhDs and developers, looking to revolutionize space mobility for the adoption of propulsion products in the smallest of satellites. We recently kickstarted our commercial phase with our first product: 360 , a Mission and Space Mobility analysis SaaS.

How will you contribute to IENAI SPACE?

As a CNC Machining and 3D Printing Intern, you will work on manufacturing projects and be involved in all stages of the process, from part design, machine set-up and operation, to quality control and design optimisation.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• CNC Machining: Operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts.
• 3D Printing: Set up and use 3D printers (FDM, SLA, etc.) to produce prototypes and functional parts.
• Interpretation of blueprints: Reading technical drawings and CAD files to produce parts.
• Project collaboration: Work with engineers and designers to optimise manufacturing processes.
• Laboratory management: Organising the work area, complying with safety regulations and managing stock.

What will make you succeed?

Education:

• Students or recent graduates of FP in Mechatronics, Mechanical Manufacturing, or Production Programming in Mechanical Manufacturing, or similar fields.
• Students or recent graduates in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, or related fields.
• Practical experience in CNC machining or 3D printing will be highly valued.

Technical skills:

• Experience with CNC machines (milling machines, lathes) and 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS).
• Ability to work with manual machining tools (drills, saws, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of welding is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
