Overview

Syntech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CMM Programmer on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Leamington Spa. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CMM Programmer with strong GD&T knowledge and MCOSMOS programming experience to join a high-precision manufacturing environment.

CMM Inspector Responsibilities
  • Develop, edit, and validate CMM programs using MCOSMOS software (including CAT1000) from 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
  • Carry out dimensional inspections using CMM equipment and precision measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, and height gauges.
  • Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final product verification.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD data.
  • Analyse inspection results and produce clear inspection reports for internal teams and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to quality and inspection processes.
  • Ensure inspection programs are robust, repeatable, and aligned with product specifications and tolerances.
CMM Inspector Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a CMM Programmer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in MCOSMOS CMM programming software.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
