Job Title: Closing Room SupervisorLocation: NorthamptonSalary: £38,000 - £44,000 (DOE)Permanent / Full-Time; Working hours are typically 7:15am - 4:15pm Monday to Thursday and 7:15am - 12:15pm on Friday We are working with a well-established and highly respected footwear manufacturer in Northampton who are looking to appoint a Closing Room Supervisor to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a heritage brand known for its craftsmanship and quality, offering long-term stability and career development within a supportive and collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Closing Room, ensuring efficient and high-quality production
  • Monitor production output and maintain quality standards through regular checks and team engagement
  • Provide guidance, support and constructive feedback to team members to drive performance and continuous improvement
  • Allocate work effectively based on team capability and production priorities
  • Liaise closely with planning and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery
  • Uphold and enforce quality control processes across the department
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained, reporting any issues promptly
  • Support hands-on production where required
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within footwear, garment or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving approach
Desirable:
  • Experience within a high-quality or heritage manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Working hours are typically 7:15am - 4:15pm Monday to Thursday and 7:15am - 12:15pm on Friday. Due to the nature of the role, there may occasionally be a requirement for additional hours, although this is not common. The role offers a salary of £38,000 - £44,000 depending on skills and experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower starting salary, with a clear pathway for progression and salary development.
