Job Description
Overview

Step into a role where your clinical leadership truly makes a difference. My client in Wiltshire is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Veterinary Surgeon who can inspire a close knit team, uphold exceptional clinical standards and ensure clients receive outstanding care. This is a role for someone who enjoys being fully involved in day to day practice life while setting a strong example in both medical and surgical excellence.

The practice itself is a warm, long established clinic with a loyal following and a varied caseload that keeps each day engaging. You'll be supported by other surrounding branches, including access to referral services, advanced imaging and ECC colleagues. The clinic is equipped with modern facilities such as digital radiography, ultrasound, dental equipment and an in house laboratory. You'll also have the freedom to develop services and champion the highest standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Direct clinical work, shape the practice culture, and maintain high standards consistently.
  • Guide and support the nursing team, contribute to training students, and play an active role in clinical governance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, communicate with clarity and confidence, and make evidence based decisions.
  • Work closely with the Head Nurse to maintain continuity of care, oversee workflow, and support rota planning.
  • Contribute to audits, protocols, and wider quality improvements across the region.
Qualifications
  • MRCVS qualified vet with solid small animal experience.
  • Comfortable with both routine procedures and more complex cases, with access to referral support when needed.
  • Positive and collaborative approach to teamwork; additional qualifications (completed or in progress) are welcomed and fully supported.
Working Pattern

The working pattern can be tailored to suit you, typically over three to four days, with participation in a one in three Saturday morning rota. There are no bank holidays or on call requirements. Flexible arrangements are encouraged to support your work life balance.
