Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Psychological Therapist

Manchester Early Detection & Intervention Team ( EDIT) is the ARMS pathway for Manchester. It is a stand -alone therapy service which provides specialist assessment and psychological treatment for 14-35 year olds who have an At Risk Mental State.
Main duties of the jobIn conjunction with the EDIT therapy colleagues, the post holders will conduct specialist CAARMS assessments (training will be provided) and manage an individual caseload of complex and varied therapy clients. The post holders will be responsible for providing evidence-based therapies, to formulate and treat psychological difficulties with our client group.

- oBABCP or BACP Accreditation (or equivalent. e.g. ACAT) as psychological therapist, or currently eligible and seeking accreditation
- oMinimum 2 years post qualifying experience working as a psychological therapist
- oPost Graduate diploma or above in psychological therapy
- oA core professional qualification in one of the following: nursing, social work, psychotherapy/ counselling, clinical/counselling psychology, occupational therapy
- oAdditional post qualifying professional level qualifications or training in CFT, ACT, EMDR, CAT, DBT, CBT
- oExperience of using evidence based psychological interventions with clients with mental health problems of varying severity and complexity.
- oExperience of delivering psychological assessment with clients with mental health problems of varying severity and complexity
- oExperience of managing own caseload and time
- oExperience of working therapeutically in NHS, Education or third sector mental health service
- oExperience of working therapeutically with young people
- oExperience of working with diversity and inner city communities
- oExperience of working with psychosis
- oExperience of delivering therapy with neurodivergent clients
- oExperience of working with clinical complexity
- oBe skilled in the use of evidence based therapy assessment and psychological interventions.
- oHave good knowledge of a range of psychological interventions and therapy modalities.
- oHave skills and knowledge regarding the assessment and evaluation of risks and safeguarding.
- oBe computer literate and use MS word, teams and clinical recording systems.
- oHave commitment to continuing professional development and reflexive clinical practice.
- oCapacity to work in situations demanding careful clinical judgement.
- oAbility to work within a small team and foster good working relationships.
- oAbility to work under pressure with complex cases with limited resources.
- oWillingness to provide supervision to a range of trainees on placement with EDIT.
- oSkills and experience of delivering clinical supervision.
- oExperience of delivering therapy and assessments via MS Teams.
- oKnowledge of issues impacting young people and their mental health.
- oAbility to communicate complex and highly technical and /or clinically sensitive information clearly both verbally and in writing.
- oCan demonstrate a high-level of interpersonal skill and sensitivity when communicating with a wide audience including clients, carers, health care colleagues and external agencies.
- oCan demonstrate ability to contribute to clinical team meetings to ensure the effective sharing of clinical information.
- oCan demonstrate punctual, factual written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with professional and Trust standards.
