The Clinician Support and Assistant Psychologist Development Coordinator is a key operational role acting as the main link between the Operations Team, our network of clinicians, and a team of office based Assistant Psychologists.
The role ensures clinicians receive timely, accurate and supportive responses to process related queries, enabling efficient delivery of high quality assessments and reports without compromising the patient experience. Working closely with the Service Lead and Clinical Lead, the role also oversees the fair allocation of clinical tasks to Assistant Psychologists, ensuring equitable development opportunities and exposure to a range of clinical activities.
This role is ideal for an ambitious, empathetic Assistant Psychologist who enjoys coordination, problem solving and supporting others' development. The post holder will bring a calm, personable and adaptable communication style, with the ability to think on their feet, diffuse tension and take a solutions focused approach.
While not a directly clinical role, a strong grounding in psychology and an interest in service development will support effective understanding of clinical processes, team dynamics and clinician challenges.
Main duties of the job1. Primary Contact
Act as the primary first line contact for clinicians seeking clarification on processes, workflow, documentation, systems or pathway expectations.
Respond promptly to clinician queries, resolving issues wherever possible before escalation.
Maintain a calm and positive approach when supporting clinicians experiencing frustration, delays or operational challenges.
Diffuse tensions effectively and professionally, ensuring clinicians feel supported and valued.
2. Workflow & Clinical Process Coordination
Ensure clinicians have all necessary documentation, templates, pathway information and updates required for consistent assessment delivery.
Monitor and support clinician progress across assessment and reporting milestones, proactively identifying barriers or delays.
Collaborate with Operations Team colleagues to ensure clinicians remain aligned with scheduling, reporting timeframes and service requirements.
3. Communication & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, respectful working relationships with all clinicians (internal and external).
Communicate updates, process changes or system improvements clearly, promptly and with sensitivity to clinician needs.
Represent the Operations Team in a supportive, solution focused and professional manner at all times.
4. Quality Assurance & Governance Support
Assist clinicians with adhering to internal quality expectations for documentation, reports and assessments.
Monitor recurring issues or themes and escalates these appropriately to the Service Lead.
Support governance processes by ensuring clinician queries relating to safeguarding, risk or compliance are escalated quickly and correctly.
5. Operational Efficiency & Problem Solving
Identify inefficiencies or communication gaps that impact clinician workflow and propose solutions.
Participate in discussions of process improvements that enhance clinical workflow and overall patient experience.
Maintain detailed logs of common issues, resolutions and trends to inform service improvements.
6. Systems & Information Management
Use operational and clinical systems (e.g. Semble) to check clinician schedules, documentation status, report submissions and workflow progress.
Ensure all communications and updates are accurately recorded within internal systems.
Support data capture for performance reporting where relevant (e.g. report turnaround times, clinician queries, delays).
Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure cohesive communication and consistent service delivery across referrals, appointments, assessments and reporting.
Assist colleagues during periods of high demand or staff absence. Contribute positively to a stable, inclusive and supportive team environment.
7. Escalation & Risk Communication
Escalate concerns, emerging risks or patterns of clinician feedback to the Service Lead.
Share positive developments, successful resolutions or workflow improvements as they arise.
Uphold and represent KT Healthcare values in all clinician interactions.
8. Coordination of Assistant Psychologists
Act as the central point for clinical task requests from the Service Lead, Clinical Lead and Team Leads.
Allocate clinical tasks fairly and transparently to office based Assistant Psychologists (including the post holder), promoting equitable access to learning opportunities.
Maintain oversight of the range and frequency of clinical opportunities each Assistant Psychologist has undertaken, ensuring balanced development across the team.
Serve as a key point of contact for Assistant Psychologists seeking advice or clarification about clinical tasks, escalating or seeking support from the Service Lead where appropriate.
Contribute to Assistant Psychologists' appraisals by providing feedback on the breadth and depth of clinical work completed during the review period.

The candidate must have a psychology degree or a relative discipline as this is an Assistant Psychologist role.
The candidate must be able to travel into Chichester and be a reliable commutable distance.
