Clinical Research Fellow- Genomic Medicine and Clinical TrialsThe closing date is 28 September 2025
We are looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join our dynamic Neurology and Genomic research teams.
You will be gaining hands-on involvement in Phase 1-3 clinical trials, the opportunity to serve as a Sub-Investigator, and the chance to lead your own research project with potential for publication and teaching.
You'll be working at the forefront of genomic and neurological research within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that fosters growth and innovation.
Interviews expected to be held w/c 13th October 2025.
Main duties of the jobReporting into Professor of Neurology, your responsibilities will include:
- Hands-on experience in neurology clinical trials and genomic medicine.
- Opportunities to act as Sub-Investigator, from patient recruitment to prescribing investigational medicines.
- The chance to develop your own research project, with support for publications and conference presentations.
- Exposure to a multidisciplinary network across neurology, genetics, and advanced therapy research.
- Teaching, supervision, and professional development

Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour.

Person Specification Qualifications- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration
- GCP (Good Clinical Practice) certification
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience
- Experience in paediatrics or neurology
- Demonstrated interest in clinical research
- Understanding of research governance and ethics
- Previous experience in clinical genetics or genomic medicine
- Experience working in a clinical trial setting
- Publications or presentations in peer-reviewed settings
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Understanding of the principles of clinical audit and quality improvement
