Job Description
Clinical Receptionist & Booking Clerk - Medical Imaging

Closing date: 12 May 2026.

A flexible approach to work is essential as part of the post, in line with the Medical Imaging Service Policy of promoting the extended working day/week to benefit our patients.

The Radiology Department is fully committed to effective appraisal and any training and development will be actively encouraged and supported.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide administrative/reception service support to facilitate the patient pathway.
  • Work flexibly across services to provide a booking service, process clinic changes, call centre cover, process referrals, and undertake a range of general admin tasks.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams, using SOPs to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
  • Ensure accurate data recording using the Patient Administration System (PAS), e-referral and other systems; and via the use of Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs), book outpatient/inpatient events in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time target dates.
Qualifications & Training
  • Either a minimum of 3 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade C or above, or a qualification at an equivalent level.
  • IT/Keyboard qualification or demonstrate evidence through experience.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Previous office/clerical work.
  • Experience of working in a hospital.
  • Knowledge of the Patient Administration System.
  • Experience of working unsupervised.
