Post DetailsThe State Hospital Psychology Department is pleased to advertise a fixed term Clinical Psychologist post to join a highly motivated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a unique high secure forensic environment.
About the Department and ServiceThe State Hospital provides high secure care for patients from Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Psychology Department delivers high quality psychological assessments, comprehensive risk assessments, and a range of individual and group interventions across four service areas. The post will provide input to patients with a range of mental disorders and work closely with colleagues from other disciplines. The postholder will also be involved in delivering training, offering supervision and reflective practice, providing consultancy to colleagues, and sharing research expertise across the hospital site. The role benefits from close links with stakeholder services including the East of Scotland Clinical Psychology Training course, Medium and Low secure forensic services, and other UK high secure hospitals.
Responsibilities- Deliver high quality psychological and risk assessments.
- Provide individual and group psychological interventions across four service areas.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Deliver training and supervision to staff.
- Offer consultancy and share research expertise with colleagues across the hospital site.
- Participate in hospital wide work and national service opportunities.
We are particularly keen to hear from experienced Clinical Psychologists currently working in other health boards who are looking to broaden their expertise and gain valuable experience in high secure forensic services. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship, and, if a permanent NHS Scotland employee, possess prior agreement from their line manager for secondment.
