Job Description
Clinical Psychologist - Autism & ADHD Assessments

Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person assessments required at your nearest assessment hub
Salary: £70,000 FTE
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Part-Time and Flexible Working Considered)
Specialism: Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Assessments
Region: North West England preferred (regular travel to Chester required)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role An opportunity has arisen for two experienced Clinical Psychologists (NHS Band 8 equivalent) to join a growing neurodevelopmental assessment service. This position offers a flexible, remote-first working model with some in-person assessments required at regional hubs, particularly in the Chester area.

The role involves conducting structured assessments for Autism and ADHD using gold-standard diagnostic tools, working closely with a multidisciplinary team, and delivering high-quality clinical reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive Autism and/or ADHD assessments

  • Administer and interpret standardised diagnostic tools such as:

  • ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule)

  • ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised)

  • ACE(+)

  • DIVA-5 (Young/Adult)

  • QB Check

  • Produce detailed, evidence-based diagnostic reports

  • Provide empathetic communication and support to clients and families

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and formulations

    Essential Criteria
    • HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist

    • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience

    • Significant experience using one or more of the following: ADOS, ADI-R, ACE(+), DIVA-5, QB Check

    • Strong diagnostic formulation and clinical report writing skills

    • A commitment to neurodevelopmental assessment and neuroaffirmative practice

    Desirable Experience
    • Background in NHS and/or independent diagnostic services

    • Understanding of co-occurring neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions

    • Experience working across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults)
