Clinical Nurse Manager II - Interventional Cardiology

Full time (37.5 hours per week) Permanent.Remuneration: €62,078 - €78,443 (dependent on relevant experience).

The Purpose of This Role

The Clinical Nurse Manager II will lead and manage the Catheterisation Laboratory, ensuring day to day operational excellence. The role requires a strategic approach to service development, continuous quality improvement and change management to achieve organisational objectives. The CNMII will oversee a specialised nursing team, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and promoting professional development within Cardiology.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide innovative leadership support and advice to nursing and allied staff.
• Develop and implement the service plan, including departmental policy and change initiatives.
• Manage resources efficiently to sustain continuous quality improvement.
• Lead recruitment and retention activities, in partnership with the Director / Assistant Director of Nursing.
• Forecast skill mix and turnover trends, managing WTE control.
• Facilitate annual staff development, performance reviews and clinical incidents reporting.
• Promote inter professional teamwork and community liaison.
• Coordinate patient activities across the area of responsibility.
• Deploy delegation to the maximum safe level.
• Maintain audit systems for service evaluation and client care.
• Investigate complaints, incidents or near misses and report findings appropriately.
• Ensure compliance with professional and clinical standards and evidence based care planning.
• Provide supportive supervision and professional development to staff, fostering team motivation.

Candidate Criteria - Qualifications

• Registered nurse (or eligible for registration) with the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by NMBI.
• R.G.N registration.
• Minimum of 5 years post registration experience, with at least 3 years in Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory or Cardiology.
• Suitable management experience and/or qualification.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, accountability and communication skills.
• Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
