We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager II -Surgical Day Unit to join a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland . This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse to work in a dynamic clinical environment delivering high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within the patient care units, supporting the goals and objectives of Surgical Services and the organisation.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee patient flow across Surgical Services to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of patient care.
Collaborate closely with Theatre and PACU Nurse Managers, the Head of Surgical Services, Nurse Supervisors, Director of Nursing, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care, ensuring care is competent, compassionate, efficient, evidence-based, and aligned with professional standards and the Professional Scope of Practice Framework.
Support staff recruitment, retention, development, and performance management, promoting a positive, respectful, inclusive, and supportive working environment.
Ensure the availability of safe equipment, adequate supplies, and appropriate resources, while monitoring staffing levels, productivity, budgets, and operational expenditure.
Participate in quality improvement, risk management, clinical audit, and accreditation activities, identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of best practices, policies, and standards.
Maintain effective professional relationships and communication with patients, families, physicians, nursing colleagues, other departments, and external stakeholders to promote collaborative and respectful care.
Support education and professional development by attending mandatory training and relevant study days, maintaining a professional portfolio, supervising or precepting students and newly appointed staff, and identifying opportunities for nursing research.
Promote professional accountability and effective practice through participation in performance reviews, health promotion initiatives, patient and family education, effective time management, and the completion of other duties as required.
NMBI-registered Registered General Nurse in good standing.
Relevant post-registration qualification in Nursing Management is desirable.
Minimum 3 years' clinical nursing experience.
Minimum 2 years' progressive nursing management experience.
Experience in a Same Day Surgical Unit is desirable.
Experience in implementing new services and ways of working.
Strong leadership, delegation, team-building, and motivational skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teaching, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong planning, organisation, time management, flexibility, and multitasking abilities.
Innovative and motivated approach with a commitment to professional development.
Up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant specialist area and national nursing strategies.
Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and respect towards patients, relatives, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
