PositionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager for Frailty Services based cross site at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr.
HoursFrom 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
What you will doWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager to lead and support a diverse team across two frailty units, two frailty wards, and two active wards, spanning two frailty units, two frailty wards, and two active wards across two hospital sites within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. This is a pivotal leadership role that will shape the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for some of our most vulnerable patients.
As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, effective, and responsive care across all designated areas. Champion excellence in frailty care, rehabilitation, and acute medical services, driving innovation and continuous improvement. Support and develop nursing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and professional growth. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior managers, and clinical leads to ensure seamless service delivery across both sites. Lead on quality assurance, workforce planning, and service development initiatives aligned with national and local priorities.

We are looking for a candidate who is a registered nurse with substantial leadership experience in acute or frailty care. Passionate about improving outcomes for older adults and those with complex needs. Skilled in managing change, building teams, and delivering strategic objectives. Committed to upholding the values of NHS Ayrshire & Arran and delivering compassionate, dignified care.
