Site: Broadmoor Hospital, Town: Crowthorne. Salary: £61,524 - £68,652 per annum (inclusive of allowances). Closing Date: 03/06/2026.

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow. We also offer specialist services, including medium and high secure care at Broadmoor Hospital.

Exciting opportunities have arisen for three exceptional candidates to join High Secure Services at Broadmoor Hospital as Clinical Nurse Managers. Two of these posts are full time, permanent positions, and one is a six month secondment.

The successful candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and motivate staff to deliver the core objectives of the Trust while supporting individual development within the team.

Main Duties of the Job

This position is crucial to providing critical patient care and ensuring clinical nursing practice reflects national and local professional standards. The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) will lead high quality patient care through effective delivery of the Care Programme Approach (CPA).

The CNM is responsible for ensuring care is provided in a safe environment, anti discriminatory and sensitive to cultural diversity, promotes recovery and places patient involvement at the heart of practice.

The CNM must enable staff to engage patients therapeutically and demonstrate a high standard of clinical competence, including comprehensive assessment of need, planning, delivery of evidence based interventions and evaluation of health outcomes.

The CNM ensures all nursing staff have regular clinical supervision and personal and professional development opportunities, working in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training
  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nurse - RN3, RNMH, RN4, RN5, RN6, RNLD.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • ENB 770 or equivalent.
  • ENB 998 or 45.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • NVQ Assessor qualification.
  • Relevant post registration health care and/or management qualifications.
Experience
  • Two years' experience as Band 6 in mental health inpatient services.
  • Experience providing management supervision.
  • Experience as primary nurse.
  • Experience in team building.
  • Experience teaching and developing nurses.
Knowledge
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Able to handle complex inter related information and activities.
  • Excellent team player and facilitator of partnership working.
  • Understanding of budget and resource management.
  • Innovative practice role model through personal actions.
  • Competent in receiving and providing clinical supervision.
