We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Surgical Ward in our Hospital in Cork, Ireland. (Full time, Permanent)
Job Responsibilities- Provide strong clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the inpatient surgical ward.
- Coordinate and manage ward activity, staffing, and resources to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery.
- Act as a role model by promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Ensure high standards of patient safety, quality of care, and compliance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical expertise, guidance, and support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee patient care planning, assessment, and evaluation to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Support and implement quality improvement initiatives and service development within the ward.
- Manage staff performance, development, rostering, and daily operational requirements.
- Lead and support change management initiatives within the clinical area.
- Ensure effective communication across all members of the healthcare team.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of ward services.
- Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduate acute care nursing experience is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in Orthopaedic procedures and inpatient surgical care.
- Proven experience managing a busy surgical ward.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a nursing people management/leadership role.
- Management qualification is preferable.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and change management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and clinical governance.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and service development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead by example.
