We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Intensive Care in our Hospital in Cork, Ireland.
(Full time, Permanent)
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing clinical leadership within the Intensive Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care to critically ill patients.
- Support the coordination of ICU nursing staff, including participation in rostering, allocation of duties, and daily operational management.
- Supervise and support nursing staff in the delivery of patient care, promoting best practice and adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Contribute to patient care planning and support clinical decision-making in collaboration with senior nursing and medical staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIQA standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement, audit, and risk management initiatives within the ICU.
- Support effective communication and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
- Assist in staff orientation, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-registration acute care nursing experience, including critical care/ICU experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in an ICU or high-acuity clinical environment.
- Strong clinical knowledge of contemporary critical care nursing practice and standards.
- Evidence of leadership ability or previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is desirable.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
