Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Provost Veterinary Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and well-established team in the beautiful seaside town of St Andrews.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vet ready to take the next step into clinical leadership, combining hands on first opinion work with a key role in supporting and developing the wider veterinary team. You will help shape clinical standards, contribute to the ongoing development of the practice, and ensure we continue to deliver exceptional patient and client care.

As Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Practice Director and senior team to support clinical delivery, mentor colleagues, and promote a positive, collaborative clinical culture.

Practice Highlights
  • Modern, purpose-built small animal practice in St Andrews
  • Experienced team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 7 support staff
  • Two surgical theatres and dedicated dental suite with dental x ray
  • Digital x ray, endoscopy, and Imotek ultrasound equipment
  • Fully equipped in house laboratory
  • Separate cat, dog, and isolation wards
  • ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status

How You'll Make a Difference
  • Provide high-quality clinical care across a varied small animal caseload
  • Support, mentor, and develop less experienced colleagues and new graduates
  • Work closely with the Practice Director to support daily clinical operations
  • Lead by example in maintaining high clinical standards and best practice
  • Contribute to clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain an active role in consultations and surgery
  • Participate in a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota (8:30am-1pm) with time off in lieu
  • No out-of-hours requirement
Working Pattern
  • Full time: 40 hours per week
  • Typically 4 or 5 days per week
  • Flexible working arrangements considered where possible

You Might Be a Great Fit If
  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility) with the RCVS
  • Experience in small animal first opinion practice
