With more than 160 professions represented, the University Hospitals of Geneva are a reference institution at the national level. The brain and mental health unit is the result of close collaboration between the departments of clinical neuroscience at HUG and has been established at the Geneva Biotech Campus (CBT) since November 1st. Patients have access to specialized clinical follow-ups thanks to a dedicated and multidisciplinary team, which includes neuropsychologists and neurosurgeons, without having to return to a hospital environment. Comprehensive clinical care pathways, known as end-to-end (from initial management to return home or to appropriate facilities), are established by the respective neurology and neurosurgery teams of HUG in collaboration with the NeuroCentre, around various brain and mental health care developments. This initiative aims to create an effective synergy between the clinical skills of HUG and the research capabilities of the Biotech Campus, in order to inspire treatments with innovative new tools. In fact, at the Biotech Campus, several teams are available to offer support for research projects aimed at advancing the understanding of cognitive disorders and paving the way for new tailored treatment strategies.
