Job Description
Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in Sussex. This brand new role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in an ever changing, challenging environment, which is hugely rewarding.

When selected, you will support and enhance the psychological care of patients, providing psychological assessments and low to medium intensity psychological interventions.

Hours

Part time: 15 hours per week - 7.5 hours for two days a week (Mondays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays).

Salary

Annual salary up to £33,510 per annum full time equivalent, pro rata for 15 hours (£13,404) depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, following mental health triage and discussion with the multi disciplinary team, prioritising according to clinical need, risk presentation and release planning under guidance of the registered psychologist/clinical lead.
  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop psychological formulations to support patients and the MDT.
  • Identify and deliver appropriate individual and group interventions in line with Psychological & Talking Therapies Service (PTTS) pathways.
  • Monitor and evaluate psychological interventions using appropriate measures as per PTTS guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree (BA/BS) in Psychology; or MSc in Forensic or Health Psychology, with entitlement to graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society.
  • Evidence of foundational training in evidence based psychological frameworks such as CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT.
  • Knowledge of evidence based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress.
  • Experience working in a forensic or secure environment.
