An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the fantastic team in Firle pre-assessment.
The Firle Unit provides a vital service in safely preparing patients for surgery.
We require a clinic clerk to be part of a small team to help in providing this service.
Main duties of the jobThe duties include greeting patients, collating notes, collection of notes and reception duties such as answering the phone and making appointments.
We are open Monday to Friday 08.00 hours to 18.00. The hours are 30 hours per week. The duties are arranged to ensure that the unit has clerical cover for all of the hours that we are open.
The use of OASIS, I-Fit and e-searcher would be useful but training can be provided.

Qualifications- Good general education to GCSE or equivalent level including English and Maths
- Literacy and numeric skills
- Ability to undertake additional training on departmental IT and manual systems
- Theatre man/ Medisoft training
- ECDL or other alternative IT qualification
- Oasis training
- Administration experience in NHS or other similar environment
- Awareness of confidentiality issues
- Customer care skills and experience, preferably within a healthcare environment
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Knowledge of filing system
- Ability to work methodically
- Able to manage and organise own work load to strict deadlines, can work calmly under pressure
- Good telephone manner
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
- Good keyboard and IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of NHS system
- Knowledge of Medisoft; ophthalmic patient record system
