Salary: IWC Hay Scale 6, £25,992 to £27,268 FTE per annum pro-rata (actual salary £2,426 to £2,545) pay award
Haylands Primary School is a popular school community that strives to provide the very best for its pupils and their development. The Governing Board oversees the school's management, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and pupils receive quality education. An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and self-reliant individual to join the school staff as a professional clerk to the Board.
Key Responsibilities include:- Providing effective administrative support to the governing board, including preparing agendas in consultation with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher;
- Taking and writing minutes, and distributing documentation and information to Governors;
- Managing information efficiently and administering meetings;
- Advising the Governing Board on compliance, governance, constitution, and procedural matters, with training and development provided.
This is a part-time role offering flexibility, with most work conducted outside of school hours. Board meetings are held in the evenings, approximately two to three times per term.
Support and Development:Support for the post-holder will be provided by the Chair, Headteacher, and the Isle of Wight Council Governor Services department. Opportunities for professional development, including training, briefings, and network events (virtual or in-person), will be available. The role may include access to self-directed learning and the possibility to gain an accredited qualification.

This role is classified as a regulated activity and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
