Clerical Officer - Southern Health and Social Care Trust Craigavon

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust are seeking 3 Clerical Officers to provide administrative and clerical support across its services. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with clerical or office-based experience to secure a role within a leading public sector organisation.

About the role:

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Part-time, 25 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 3pm - 8pm, with 1 weekend in 6 when trained with time off in lieu the following week
  • Craigavon Area Hospital
  • Temporary ASAP for 6 months

What you'll be doing in this role:

  • Ensure that laboratory requests are entered into the laboratory computer system
  • Check the accuracy of the information entered against the original request form and previous records
  • Operate appropriate computerised clinical information systems as required within the department e.g. EPIC and Microsoft Office products
  • Operate the request scanning and automated data capture system. Retrieve records of requests from this image archive system, in response to queries.
  • Telephone communications with GPs, Health Centre staff, ward staff and others on a variety of laboratory related matters in accordance with laid down protocols.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Provide clerical support for the department including word processing and photocopying, if required
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

What you'll need for this role:

  • 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent / higher qualification AND 1 years' experience in a clerical/administrative role
  • Experience in the use of at least one Microsoft Office product or equivalent
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. (This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post).

  • Flexible with regard to working arrangements including working in all Radiology Sites.

  • Participate in evening / weekend rota as required to meet the needs of the service.
