Axcis are working with a busy primary school in Poplar, Tower Hamlets, who are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join their premises team from September.
The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
This is a part-time position and will involve completing cleaning duties before or after the school day.
The school is accessible from Poplar, Limehouse, Canary Wharf, Canning Town, Bow and surrounding areas.
About the School Cleaner RoleYour responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors and communal areas
- Cleaning toilets, sinks and washroom facilities
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely
- Wiping surfaces, doors and touchpoints
- Replenishing soap, toilet roll and cleaning supplies
- Cleaning staffrooms and office areas
- Following infection-control and hygiene procedures
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely
- Reporting damage, hazards or maintenance issues
- Following school safeguarding and site-security procedures
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable
- School, nursery or commercial cleaning experience is beneficial
- A reliable and hardworking approach
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Good time-management skills
- Understanding of health and safety
- Ability to handle cleaning products safely
- Reliability and punctuality
- Availability before or after school hours
- Commitment to a regular position from September
