Cleaner

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Domestic Cleaner to join ourfriendly and supportive team at Cambridge Avenue & Messingham Medical Centre Practice. This role is ideal forsomeone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and hygienic clinical environment.

The position is for 10 hours a week, 2 hours a day Monday to Friday, 6am to 8am. Holiday and sick cover will be needed in addtion.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a full cleaning service within the practice, at the set-down times, in line with policies and procedures, ensuring a clean environment for patient care,in accordance with the NHS national Specification of Cleaning Standards.

Cambridge Avenue & Messingham Medical Centre has a dedicated team of 5Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Nurse Prescriber, and a wellestablished clinical and admin team.

We are a training practice for GPRegistrars and medical students from Hull & York Medical School.

Job responsibilities

The followingare the core responsibilities of the cleaner in the clinical environment. There may be onoccasion, arequirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such asworkload and staffing levels:

• a)Ensurewhere applicable areas are:
• b) Damp mopped
• d) Glass and mirrors cleaned
• e) Tiled areas washed
• f)Paintedsurfaces cleaned
• b)Safelyempty and subsequently clean clinical and general waste bins, ensuring waste isplaced in the appropriate receptacle
• c)Adhereto the periodic cleaning schedule, ensuring all activities are completed
• d)Usecleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to manufacturersinstructions.
• e)Replenishall consumable items (hand towels, toilet roll etc.) as required
• f)Adhereto the colour coding system for cleaning equipment at all times, seekingappropriate guidance if required
• g)Ensureall cleaning materials are stored in a safe and secure manner, adhering toCOSHH, H&S and other legislative acts and guidance
• h)Asrequired, undertake legionella flushing of systems within the practice
• i)Reportany faulty equipment to line management in a timely manner
• j)Reportany defects found during the cleaning process to line management in a timelymanner

Person Specification Experience

• Experience of working in a clinical cleaning environment
• Experience of working in a GP or clinical environment

Qualifications

• Basic standard of general education
• knowledge of cleaning of clinical environment
• Ability to follow policy and procedure and effectively manage stock
• Flexibility to work outside of core hours and some elements of lone working
