Job Title: Class 2 Driver

Location: Mitcham

Pay Rate: £16.90 to £25.35 per hour

Standard Rate: £16.90 per hour + £2.04 holiday pay = £18.94 per hour total

Overtime (after 45 hours): £25.35 per hour + £3.06 holiday pay = £28.41 per hour total

Hours: Monday to Friday (04:00 - 14:00 finish) - ongoing full time work

Licence: Class 2 licence essential

Experience: 6 months experience driving Class 2 required

Fifth Wheel Recruitment are looking for Class 2 Drivers in Mitcham to work with our client, who provides water, waste and resource management solutions to millions of people and businesses worldwide.

You will be operating a Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) collecting commercial waste. It is important that you have previous waste/RCV experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Driving and operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle
• Collecting commercial refuse from different local areas each day
• Assisting with the manual movement of domestic wheelie bins - providing excellent customer service and ensuring the bins are left tidy and correctly re-positioned once emptied
• Working safely around pedestrians, traffic, and other road users
• Completing daily checks and reporting any defects
• Executing work to a high standard while following site safety procedures

About you

• Class 2 Driving Licence
• At least 6 months experience driving commercially
• UK DCPC card and valid Digi-tacho card
• Up to date with WTD regulations; may accept up to 6 points on licence but not DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements
• Physically fit, comfortable with manual handling and able to work independently when required
• Reliable, punctual and safety conscious
• UK resident and able to travel to and from the site; no visa assistance or relocation support
