Job Description
Staff Nurse/ ODP Band 5 - Full time + Part time hours - Permanent Endoscopy Unit, ARI

We are currently going through a period of change and expansion in the Endoscopy unit in NHS Grampian, and have a number of full or part time positions available.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an excellent team, who provide care for both elective and emergency endoscopic procedures. Previous experience within endoscopy would be beneficial but further training will be offered if successful. You will be given access to JETS workforce and will complete the competency framework to become a fully competent endoscopy assistant. Recent previous experience within anaesthetics or recovery would be beneficial to support the expanding needs of the service, but is not essential.

As part of our service you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS and PEG insertion, alongside other therapeutic procedures such as oesophageal stent placement, dilatation, EMR and RFA procedures. Once competent in basic endoscopic procedures, you will then rotate to cover the emergency endoscopy service which covers a 7 day rota.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
