Job Description
The Colas Group operates internationally in all aspects of transport infrastructure. As part of the global organisation, Colas Ireland is primarily involved the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion and emulsifier manufacturing, and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local road network. In Ireland Colas operates from 14 locations across the island of Ireland. Purpose of the Role We are seeking a conscientious and experienced Civil Site Engineer to join our team. The successful Civil Site Engineer will be provided with an excellent salary and company benefits and be responsible for overseeing and supervising multi site based activities on local and regional roads in Ireland, ensuring that all works are carried out in line with the relevant specifications, on time, and within budget. Main Responsibilities The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for the design and recording of site works : Co-ordinating crews, specifically focused on road recycling / resurfacing, to ensure works are completed on time, to budget and in line with stakeholder requirements. Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities, materials ordering and overall program of works. Monitoring and managing productivity and resources to ensure project is cost effective. Ensuring crews (employees/subcontractors) are appropriately recruited, inducted, trained, licensed and competent to operate. Prepare and ensure on going compliance with Site Specific Safety Plans. Complying with company policies and procedures and ensuring all site rules, safety inspections, reviews, prestart meetings, SSWPs and SQE audits are implemented. Customer Liaison. Site Audits. Preparation of site assessments and safety plans. Recording site measures for invoicing. Maintenance of daily record sheets. Ideal Candidate Relevant industry experience is required, preferably in highways, road pavement or surfacing. The candidate should hold a Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering and possess strong communication skills, a commitment to leading a safety-focused culture, and ideally a Managing Safely in Construction card. A full clean driving licence is required, and proficiency in technical drawing, such as AutoCAD, is expected.
