Overview

We're offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Civil Enforcement Officer, helping to deliver high-quality enforcement services across Crawley. This role plays a vital part in supporting the safe and efficient movement of traffic throughout the borough. Working in partnership with West Sussex County Council, we focus on promoting parking compliance through both education and enforcement, ensuring fair and effective use of on-street parking and council-operated car parks.

You'll act as a visible ambassador for the council, offering guidance and assistance to the public while maintaining a professional and approachable presence on the streets.

Working hours and pay

The post holder will be required to work an average of 37 hours per week on a rota basis, including regular weekend and bank holiday work. This post is excluded from the flexible working hours scheme.

A 14% enhancement on the basic rate of pay (excluding Crawley allowance) will be paid for Saturdays and Sundays worked. The post holder will also work during the council's Christmas closure period (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day), for which time off in lieu will be given.

Full uniform and training will be provided. A current UK manual driving licence and ability to use suitable alternative transport methods are required. A body-worn video camera will be used in line with council policies, and lone working is a requirement of this role.

Satisfactory clearance of a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) will be a condition of employment.
