Slough Borough Council is seeking a Children's Team Manager for our Assessment and Intervention (A&I) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality social work practice while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
As the Children's Team Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of social workers, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to statutory requirements.
- Overseeing the assessment and intervention processes, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.
- Providing supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to enhance service provision and outcomes for children and families.
- Monitoring performance metrics and implementing strategies for continuous improvement within the team.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience in children's social work, including management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to partnership working.
