Job Description

Join our dedicated Safeguarding & Family Support Team in Telford and Wrekin as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a significant impact in the lives of children and families. We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals who are committed to safeguarding children and promoting their well-being. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families, professionals, and community resources to ensure the best outcomes for children in need of support.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in partnership with families.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, helping them to access the resources they need.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and family support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex situations effectively.
