Job Description

Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

Salary: £31,493 to £34,495 (Inclusive of sleep in's)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join a well-rated children's residential service in Witney, as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role offers a rewarding chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours safely and effectively.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
  • Support young people through taxing behaviours with empathy and safety.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's care.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
  • Must hold a full UK manual driver's licence, as transportation of young people is required.
  • Must be over the age of 21.
  • Ability to commute to Witney
