Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic Residential Support Worker's to join our amazing team, building strong relationships and fostering a warm, supportive, and rewarding environment to the children and young people in our care.

No two days are the same in this dynamic and fulfilling role! From planning engaging activities and providing one-on-one support to accompanying young people on off-site trips, each day presents new challenges and opportunities. As a residential care worker, you'll need to be adaptable, flexible, and skilled at reading situations to help guide young people towards making positive choices.

For this role, whilst experience is preferred it is not necessary - if you have a positive, can-do attitude and the passion to make a real, meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people then this is the perfect role for you!

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people's records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.

What We Offer:

  • A full two weeks of paid training before starting the role
  • Overtime rate of x1.25

Our Shift Patterns:

  • 1-2 shifts per week on a part-time basis
  • Sleep ins are mandatory

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing emotional support during challenging times
  • Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential
  • Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
  • Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future
  • Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
  • Encouraging community engagement, attending off-site activities and expanding their personal social networks
  • Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.)

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old due to Ofsted requirements
  • Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential
  • No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people
  • Must have availability for sleep-in shifts
  • Must be able to attend a two week induction
