Location: Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
An established provider of therapeutic residential care services for children and young people is seeking an experienced Children's Residential Home Manager to lead and develop a residential home in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
The RoleThe Home Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of a children's residential home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that promotes positive outcomes for young people.
Essential Requirements- Degree level qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Counselling, Social Studies, Nursing, Disability Studies or a related discipline.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
- Valid working rights for Ireland.
- Significant experience working within children's residential care services, including leadership or management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, national standards, and best practice guidance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
- Lead the day to day management of a children's residential home, ensuring a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation, national standards, company policies, and best practice.
- Oversee the assessment, admission, care planning, and review processes for young people, promoting positive outcomes and person centred care.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with families, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Manage, supervise, support, and develop the staff team, including recruitment, induction, performance management, and training.
- Ensure effective communication, record keeping, reporting, and attendance at relevant reviews, planning meetings, and court proceedings where required.
- Monitor service quality through regular audits, governance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage budgets, financial procedures, and home resources in line with organisational requirements.
- Maintain a safe, homely, and well maintained environment for young people and staff.
- Promote high standards of professional practice, safeguarding, and wellbeing across the service.
