What We're Looking For

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Proven experience managing a children's residential home
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire a team
• Excellent understanding of Children's Homes Regulations, safeguarding legislation and Ofsted requirements
• Experience leading teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred care
• Ability to develop and oversee individualised care plans that promote positive outcomes
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Passion for improving the lives of children and young people
• Ability to build strong relationships with families, professionals and external agencies

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the children's home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding
• Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements
• Lead, supervise and develop the residential staff team
• Create a safe, nurturing and positive environment where children and young people can thrive
• Develop, implement and review individual care plans to meet each young person's needs
• Monitor the quality of care and drive continuous improvement across the service
• Work collaboratively with families, social workers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
• Manage staffing, performance, training and professional development
• Maintain accurate records, reports and regulatory documentation
• Promote a culture of safeguarding, inclusion and child-centred practice throughout the home
