This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team who loves to make Jesus known in the lives of children and their families. It will also be an opportunity to establish new initiatives to reach out to those in our local community, as well as pastor the established church families. You need to have a passion for kids (especially pre-school age children, as that is currently the main age-range of children we have in church), as well as being comfortable working with parents.

• (i) leading and co-ordinating the Sunday school and creche at St Peter's church during our 10.30am morning service;
• (ii) running a playgroup for toddlers and their parents once a week on Wednesday mornings (Wiggles & Worship);
• (iii) continue and expand on our ad-hoc initiatives, such as Messy church and Holiday club;
• (iv) being our Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) and ensuring that safeguarding standards are adhered to across our church.

This is a part-time role - for 2 to 2.5 days a week. The work pattern would be Tuesday (all day), Wednesday (morning only or all day) and Sunday morning. There will be occasional evening work, such as attendance at PCC meetings, for which time off in lieu will be given.

Employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance. All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor applicants for this post.

There is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 that the postholder be a committed Christian with a living faith and is committed to the vision and values of St Peter's which includes agreement with the CEEC Basis of Faith, including the two additional declarations.
