Registered Children's Home Manager
Location: Salisbury. Salary: Competitive (DOE). Solo placement or opportunity to become Dual Registration. Full-Time Permanent. Full UK Driving Licence Required.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Children's Home Manager to lead one of our residential children's homes and provide exceptional care and support to children and young people. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes, developing a high-performing staff team, and creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home.
- Ensure the home consistently delivers high quality, child centred care in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Recruit, lead, supervise, and develop a motivated and competent staff team.
- Conduct supervisions, probation reviews, appraisals, and performance management.
- Lead regular team meetings and ensure staff complete mandatory and developmental training.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing home environment that promotes positive outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained and effectively manage rotas.
- Monitor budgets, occupancy, and expenditure to ensure the home operates efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with education providers, clinical professionals, social workers, local authorities, and other external agencies.
- Promote trauma informed and therapeutic approaches to care and behaviour support.
- Complete Regulation 44 actions, Regulation 45 reports, manager audits, and all Ofsted notifications within required timescales.
- Review care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding records, and incidents to ensure children receive the highest standard of care.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using feedback from children, families, professionals, and staff.
- Participate in the on call rota and provide leadership support when required.

Essential Requirements- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or significant progress towards achieving it.
- Minimum of one year's experience in a supervisory or management position.
- At least two years' experience in a senior role within a residential children's home.
- Excellent knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff teams.
