Job Title: Deputy Manager - Children's Residential
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY5
Hourly Rate: £15.45 - £16.05 per hour (Level 5 qualified salary: £15.95 - £16.55 per hour)
Salary: £31.332 - £33,563 plus sleeps
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading children's residential care provider in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support children with complex needs in a nurturing and structured environment, contributing to their development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the Registered Manager in the overall management of the residential facility, including staff supervision, care delivery, and administrative tasks.
- Contributing to and implementing individualised care plans, participating in reviews, and ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Leading the recruitment, training, and supervision of care staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Overseeing the assessment, care planning, and delivery of tailored support for children, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
- Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
- Maintaining accurate records, including resident files, staff rosters, and financial documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies to promote a safe, supportive environment for children and staff.
- Participating in team meetings and ongoing professional development activities.
- A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the healthcare or social care sector.
- A Full UK Manual Driving Licence with access to a vehicle (essential).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- A compassionate, caring attitude towards children, families, and colleagues.
- IT proficiency, including experience with care management systems.
