Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a children's residential care provider for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a children's residential home in Northwest London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Senior Residential Practitioner looking to step up into a management role, or for an established Deputy Manager seeking a new opportunity within a supportive and growing organisation.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure children and young people are cared for within a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. You will help lead and supervise the care team while driving positive outcomes and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires working a flexible shift pattern to meet the round-the-clock needs of the home.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the home.
  • Leading, supervising, and supporting the residential care team.
  • Ensuring the home operates strictly in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Contributing to care planning, reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Promoting high standards of care and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Supporting staff development, performance, and training.
  • Participating in the on-call rota and providing shift cover where required.
Essential Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families (or equivalent/relevant degree).
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a supervisory or shift-leading role within a children's residential setting.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work a varied shift rota including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
Working Hours
  • Full-time, structured shift work.
  • Includes a rota of evenings and weekends.
  • Participation in the on-call rota to provide cover where required.
What's on Offer
  • Salary up to £40,000 per annum.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Clear career pathways and progression opportunities within residential childcare.
  • A highly supportive management and team environment.
  • A rewarding role with a healthy, structured work-life balance.
