Job Description
Deputy Manager - Children's EBD Residential Home (Fast Track to Registered Manager)
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + £3,000 - £5,000 Ofsted Performance Bonus
Location: Manchester, M25
Home Size: Established Solo EBD Children's Home (Current Ofsted Rating: Outstanding)
- Salary of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
- £3,000 - £5,000 annual Ofsted-related performance bonus.
- Fast-track progression to Registered Manager within 12 months.
- Join an established solo EBD home currently rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
- Company-funded Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management if not already achieved.
- Ongoing professional development and leadership training.

- Experience working within children's residential care.
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Team Leader ready to progress into senior management.
- A sound understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
- A passion for delivering high quality, child centred care and achieving positive outcomes.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare as a minimum.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete it with full company funding.
- Support the Registered Manager in the day to day running of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes legislation.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver consistently high standards of care.
- Provide strong leadership during shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
- Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and care planning remain at the highest standard.
- Promote positive outcomes and help create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute towards maintaining the home's Outstanding standards.
- Work towards becoming the home's Registered Manager within 12 months through a structured development programme.
