Job Description
Deputy Manager - Residential Children's Home 
Location: Lincoln, DN21
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
Home Size: 4-bed children's home (currently at full capacity)
Rota: Predominantly office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with participation in the on-call rota as required to support the operational needs of the home

- Fully funded Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (where required)

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a residential children's home
- Previous experience in a senior residential or leadership role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a residential care team
- Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care and achieving positive outcomes
- Experience of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches to care (desirable)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
- Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends and participating in the on-call rota
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
- Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the home
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
- Lead shifts and participate in the on-call rota
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance are maintained
- Promote a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
- Implement and monitor care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
- Supervise, mentor and support the residential staff team
- Assist with recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development
- Promote trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to care
- Build positive relationships with children, families and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records, reports and statutory documentation
- Contribute to care planning, reviews and multi-agency meetings
- Support quality assurance processes and help maintain positive Ofsted outcomes
- Ensure the home operates in line with safeguarding procedures, Children's Homes Regulations and organisational policies
