Childrens and SEND Solicitor or FILEX (Maternity Leave Cover)

You will join the Children and Community Law Team assisting in meeting the increasing demands of the service department. Reporting to the team manager responsibilities include supporting the council in respect of primarily public law childcare proceedings and SEN Tribunals.

Duties include:

• advising Children's Social Care and SEND on legal issues
• drafting Court documentation
• obtaining evidence
• liaising with clients, courts, solicitors, Cafcass and witnesses to address threshold as well as being a confident advocate before the Courts and Tribunals to undertake advocacy at all levels of proceedings where possible.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with experience in public childcare law/SEN proceedings in either the public or private sector. This is a rewarding role for a solicitor who wants to make a difference in the community.
