Job Description
Children's Support Worker (Restraint Trained) 
Location: Porthcawl Area, Bridgend County, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £13.68 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) + £76 per sleep in (DOE)
Job DescriptionWe are urgently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and adaptable Relief/Temporary Children's Support Worker to join our team in the Porthcawl Area. This role offers meaningful work, flexible shift options, and the chance to support children and young people in day-to-day life while fitting around your schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Support children and young people in all day to day activities and interests as a Relief/Temporary Children's Support Worker in the Porthcawl Area
- Be restraint trained, or be willing to undergo the required training course
- Promote independence and wellbeing for the young people you support in the Porthcawl Area
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children as part of your Relief/Temporary Children's Support Worker duties
- Support weekend and evening activities, ranging from everyday interests to outings and trips
- Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the young person's home
- Maintain up to date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to engage with young people as a Relief/Temporary Children's Support Worker in the Porthcawl Area
- Understanding of trauma, including the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and trauma
- Forward thinking approach to crisis response
- Emotional resilience - remain calm and collected in challenging situations
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months' experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
