Children Residential Registered Manager

We are seeking a Registered Manager to oversee all aspects of our Children's Home, ensuring its efficient and effective operation. This role involves being responsible for high-quality care, safeguarding children and young people, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare management and a passion for improving service standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people. Manage maintenance, equipment updates, and health and safety standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and support a team of residential support workers, conduct supervisions, and promote professional development. Foster a learning culture focused on continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Strategic Planning and Compliance: Engage in strategic planning for home developments and manage all compliance aspects with Ofsted regulations. Ensure policies and procedures are followed rigorously.
  • Care Planning: Oversee the development and review of care plans, health plans, and risk assessments. Ensure effective placement matching and robust safeguarding measures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with local authorities, families, and other stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for children. Manage crisis situations effectively and maintain high standards of care.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within a residential setting, dealing with children/young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing staff.
  • Level 3 Diploma in working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Level 5 Diploma or equivalent, or willingness to work towards a relevant management qualification.
  • Strong understanding of residential care services, regulatory responsibilities, and associated legislation.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, and computer literacy skills.
  • Full driving licence.
