Role: Children & Youth Social Care Workers
Posts: Full-Time - Permanent - 39 Hours
Salary: €40,851 per annum
Reports to: Direct line Manager
Location: North Dublin Based
FRS Recruitment, in partnership with Aoibhneas, are seeking Children & Youth Social Care Workers to provide support and structured services to young people residing and engaged through Aoibhneas services.
The role is responsible for promoting and maintaining the safety and well-being of all children and young people accessing services, while also representing and upholding the values, ethos, and mission of Aoibhneas in all aspects of the work. Through this role, the successful candidate will enable children and youth to remain safe and supported within their own homes and communities, encouraging participation in children and youth activities.
Key Areas of Responsibility:Client Services & Administration
Including, but not limited to:
- To make an initial assessment of a child's and youth's support needs and refer children and youth in need of a more in-depth assessment to the relevant agency in conjunction with the Social Care Leader and and other designated persons.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all case files.
- To work as part of theSocial Care team, liaising with other staff and departments in relation to services and supports for children/families.
- To develop and implement suitable programmes to meet the needs of the children and youth in refuge and community services.
- To provide advice, information and support to non-residents by telephone and in person.
- Ensure standards are maintained and adhered to inline with policy, procedure and legislation.
- Third Level Qualification at degree level in child care, childhood and youth development, social science, social care or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience working in a social care setting with children/youth.
- Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Children's First Legislation/ Child Care Act.
- Excellent facilitation, training and communication skills.
- Experience of inter-agency working
- Full driving License
