Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - Blue Penguin Montessori

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Blue Penguin Montessori, Bournemouth.

Located close to Alum Chine beach, Blue Penguin is a small independent Montessori school. We offer a homely environment to allow children to become independent and achieve their full potential.

Our accommodation includes a bright and spacious classroom and a safe kitchen area for the children to cook. We have an attractive garden where the children enjoy daily outdoor activities, including imaginative play in a well equipped wooden house, sandpit, water play and gardening.

In addition, the children have the benefit of supervised walks down to Alum Chine.

Baby room

This room has been open since January 2009, we take children from 3 months. Our aim is to provide a caring, stimulating, and homely environment for each child. There is provision for sleeping and a dedicated playing area. The children are nurtured in a caring environment before being introduced to the Montessori philosophy at an appropriate time, ready for the transition to the main school.

Your duties and responsibilities will include

We are looking for:

• A passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. You will play a key role in promoting their social, emotional and cognitive development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age appropriate activities and curriculum to support children's learning and development
• Create a safe and inclusive environment where children can explore, play, and interact with their peers
• Observe and assess children's progress, identifying areas for improvement or additional support
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
• Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and any incidents or concerns
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues, and other professionals
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well being of the children in your care

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Level 2 qualification
• Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting
• Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children

Requirements

• A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential
• Preferably have GCSE grades A -C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent, or willing to work towards them

Hours

• Blue Penguin Montessori is open from 7:45am - 5:45pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 35-40 hours per week
