Overview

Worksop College and Ranby House is an ambitious, forward-thinking independent school with a proud heritage and a reputation for excellence. Pupil numbers are at record level with 851 pupils across two campuses. The school combines traditional values with a modern, dynamic approach to education, and to this end are now seeking a Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) to play a central role in their continued growth and success.

This is a visionary role created by the New Headmaster, and it represents a unique opportunity to join a respected organisation with strong foundations and a clear vision for the future. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Headmaster, the CFOO will be responsible for shaping and delivering the schools' financial and operational strategy.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee finance, HR, IT, facilities, and property, ensuring that all non-academic functions operate efficiently, strategically, and in full alignment with the schools' educational mission. You will bring a commercial mindset, operational excellence, and strong leadership to an environment that values collaboration, integrity, and ambition.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Headmaster and Senior Leadership Team to shape and deliver the schools' financial and operational strategy.

Qualifications and experience

• Senior leader with proven experience across finance and operations, qualified by experience or with a professional background in business, education, or commercial management.
• Strategic outlook, sound judgement, and the ability to influence Board level while remaining hands-on to deliver tangible results.
