To deputise for the Cardiology Services Manager as required. Proficiency in working in Cath Lab with a minimum of 5 years Cath lab experience to include independent support of cardiac device implants and box changes is essential. Candidate will ideally have experience in cardiac device follow up, performing echocardiography and all other Non-invasive Cardiology testing. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and Ethos. Key Duties and Responsibilities: To support the Cardiac Services in the ongoing maintenance and development of the Cardiology service. To help promote a shared sense of commitment and participation among staff in the Cardiology Department. To participate in the preparation of plans for the service and monitor report on their implementation as required. To participate and co-operate with any internal or external evaluation of the service. To help promote and maintain a safe environment for staff and patients. Develop and implement Risk Management and Health and Safety strategies in consultation with appropriate personnel. To seek to ensure expenditure is controlled within budget and identify potential for efficiency saving through improved practices and innovation. To help ensure that modern standards of clinical care are in operation and that regular monitoring is undertaken. To maintain good collaborative working relationships and communication with appropriate statutory, professional and voluntary organisations responsible for and/or participating in health care. To ensure adherence to all codes and guidelines relating to professional practice including the maintenance of Quality Standards. To contribute to the monitoring of research and new developments in Cardiology. To participate in relevant research and promote awareness of ongoing service developments and delivery. To implement and adhere to hospital policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring best practice is provided at all times. The Chief 1 Cardiac Physiologist will perform all the duties of a Senior Cardiac Physiologist post holder, & must be proficient in Echocardiography, cardiac pacing, cath-lab and cardiac device implantation and box change support. To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Possess the B.Sc. in Clinical Measurement Science, Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement or hold an equivalent qualificationDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Echocardiography accreditation, e.g. BSE, ARDMS, EACVI. Cardiac pacing accreditation, e.g. IBHRE, EHRA, BHRS. IICMP accreditation desirable for those that do not possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement Science or Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement or hold an equivalent qualificationESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE At least 5 years post-grad experience in working as a physiologist in a cardiology department. At least 3 of these years experience at senior level. At least 5 years Cath lab experience with a minimum of 3 years supporting cardiac device implants and box changes.ESSENTIAL SKILLS Resting ECG, Exercise treadmill testing, Fit and analyse ambulatory holter and BP monitors, Pacemaker, loop-recorder and ICD/CRT follow-up, Transthoracic echocardiography and report on same, Assist with transoesophageal echocardiography, Assist with Diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cath.
