Chef/cook

Benbradagh Care Home are currently looking for a skilled Cook/Chef to prepare delicious home cooked meals according to our residents menu suggestions. You will cook dishes that will delight our residents with their taste and timely delivery.

An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals.

Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

_ The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation for our residents and future residents of Benbradagh Care Home Our residents nutritional needs are of upmost importance and all food cooked and prepared here is of fresh local produce. _

Proven experience as cook/chef at least one year.
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Ability to work in a team
Very good communication skills
Excellent physical condition and stamina
Diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.

_ Responsibilities of our chef/cook _

Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cooking food in various utensils or grillers
Able to prepare meals according to residents medical preferences such as diabetic diets, gluten free diets, soft option meals.
Cleaning and the health and safety of the kitchen.
