Chef Manager - Sudbury

Job type: Permanent, Full time. 40 hours per week. Monday Friday with occasional weekend support. Salary: up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience + Sodexo rewards and benefits. Location: Northern Road, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 2XD.

About the Role

Are you a passionate culinary leader who thrives on creating exceptional food experiences? Sodexo is looking for a Chef Manager to lead our catering and hospitality service in Sudbury. You'll be at the heart of delivering outstanding meals, motivating a talented team, and ensuring every guest leaves impressed. Experience with stock control, GP, ordering, KPIs, and audits is a bonus.

What you'll do
  • Lead the catering team to deliver high-quality food, exceptional service, and strong profitability.
  • Oversee daily operations, including health & safety, compliance, facilities, and staff engagement.
  • Be the main contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring smooth, seamless service.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen management, hygiene, COSHH, fire, and statutory regulations.
  • Manage audits, inspections, budgets, food costs, and labour efficiently.
  • Plan menus, promotions, rotas, and finances for flawless service.
  • Prepare, cook, and oversee food service across all catering and hospitality areas.
  • Inspire your team through coaching, motivation, and leadership.
  • Uphold the Sodexo brand and exceed guest expectations.
  • Deliver sales, food costs, and GP targets while applying best practices.
