The RoleSupporting the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards of food and service while helping to lead and inspire the brigade.
This is a hands-on position for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and takes pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Lead service and maintain consistently high food standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior chefs.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of seasonal dishes.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise food waste.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
- Step into the Head Chef's role when required.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up.
- Background in high-quality restaurants, hotels, or private members' clubs.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and classic cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Calm, organised, and confident during busy service periods.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen management.
- Monday to Friday working patternwith weekends off.
